I walked through a group of these singing beauties in Lung Fu Shan and they were hardly shy. Finally, I can say I was able to get some good shots of these gorgeous singers.
A beautiful lotus flower at Tai Po Kau nature reserve.
Spotted this beauty at Tai Po Kau nature reserve. Most of the smaller birds I saw today were quite shy, but not this one.
This bird likes to hop around in the bushes, and so it’s tough to get a shot of it in any decent light.
Red whiskered bulbuls, also known as crested bulbuls, are medium sized, they tend to stay still and sing for a few seconds at a time, and they aren’t exactly shy, meaning that you can actually get quite close and detailed shots of them with my equipment. Excellent for practice.
This gorgeous bird enjoys this branch very much, though unfortunately it is not the best spot for taking photos since it is underneath quite a lot of cover, making it difficult to capture its lovely blue hue. This subspecies has a dark bill rather than the more common yellow bill.
I only saw this bird once at my usual spot down the street but they’re very pretty even when hiding behind a black mask.
