The bridled tern (Onychoprion anaethetus) is a bird of the family Laridae. They are a medium sized tern found in tropical waters all over the world. They have grey upperparts and white underparts with a characteristic black cap, and a white forehead. Juveniles are lighter grey in color.
These terns breed in Hong Kong in large colonies on rocky islands, laying a single egg in ground scrapes or holes. They are primarily pelagic, coming to shore only to breed.
